They all know when I join them on Daybreak, Ill be snapping away! It's out of the goodness of my heart- so my coworkers will have pictures to share with their great great children one day! (Not really, I just like to document everything!)

Since I've discovered Wedding Lighting, I've been more keen to lighting for TV!

Micah, my photographer, worked so hard to make me look decent in my live shot tonight!

Oh! He also made sure my uggs never made air :) hey! that's just how I keep warm at night! I'm still going through the awkward 75 degrees during the day (pumps) and 60 degrees at night (uggs)!

What a tragic day... It's been horrible every hour learning more people and more people have fallen victim to the alleged Navy Yard Shooter, Aaron Alexis.

As a journalist, I could not keep my eyes off the television, tweets & posts from officials... keeping our viewers in Dayton informed in turn...

I can't imagine what the families are going through and send my deepest sympathies... :(

As things wind down just a bit... We were about reports of possible shots fired outside The White House!

Then... We find out... someone threw firecrackers on the lawn! Really?! On a day like today especially?

A Little Gem in Cedarville!

Okay!!!! Thanks to the wonderful chief & crew at the Cedarville Volunteer Fire Department, I found a sweet little gem of a coffee shop in Downtown Cedarville!!!

My love for coffee & local small businesses fits this perfect spot!

The Stoney Creek Roasters is a family owned business! They can even custom make your own coffee blend with labels right at the store!

I also love the cute deck outside that overlooks the creek! Makes it a perfect location for a quiet weekend work day!

Oh, Saturday in the 40s!

We had a September Heatwave! Few days later, 40s?!?!?! What's going on?

I love anchoring Saturdays with Erica, but especially this Saturday since we're INDOORS! Some areas like Celina and Botkins saw frost and woke up to the upper 30s!

I'm NOT ready for this!

Spontaneous Trip to Cincinnati

I love random spontaneous road trips, especially with equally spontaneous & fun girlfriends!

It was actually Natalie's first trip to Cincinnati and it did not disappoint!

We headed first to Hyde Park, always adorable and fun! We took Mike's advice and headed to Tellers! I love restored spaces, so it was perfect to enjoy beautiful weather on the patio of an old bank that's now a delicious & gorgeous restaurant!

Then off to Cincinnati! We didn't get much further than Fountain Square where Cincinnati BeerFest was happening! We heard the live music & headed there! We're not beer drinkers but decided to venture into a new world of ales & found an absolutely amazing one! Redd's Strawberry Ale tastes just like Strawberry Fanta! Ummm, LOVE!!!!!

Dayton GreekFest!

What a wonderful night at the Dayton GreekFest at the Greek Orthodox Church!

The crowd was a lot of fun! The food was excellent, especially the Greek Salad! I also had fried honey dough, Chicken Gyro, Moussaka & Pastitsio- pretty much Greek Lasagna!

I loved the dancing and yes, I attempted to follow along and I'm sure I looked ridiculous!

One thing I found strange- they had a Skyline Chilli booth.... I know the Chilli is Greek, but it's like having a Taco Bell at a Mexican Festival, don't you think?!

McCall is Getting Married!!!

Our lovely meteorologist McCall is Getting married next month!!!!!! We can't let her get married without spoiling her!!!!

When I anchor, I'm always freezing! They keep the studios so cold because of our lights and equipment! I am usually wearing sweatpants and uggs underneath my skirt suits!!!!

When it gets super cold, I have to open up a hot hands to warm myself up! Not kidding!

Reporters Training aka RETREAT!

I love our yearly trips to Aileron!!! We started out with a breakfast, training sessions, then lunch & then "free for all" session!

It is a beautiful facility for business retreats & I just love what I call "relaxing training" and "venting to the boss" sessions!

Best part- it's a fun time with coworkers :)

TV Girls Night IN !

TV GIRLS NIGHT IN!

It's so nice to have girlfriends who are intelligent, passionate, smart & super fun! We learned a few things on our Girls Night In- Journalists don't have time to cook!!!!

We made our best attempts at being domesticated!!!!!

Cheers to trying local & different wines, lots of homemade or "Dorothy lane" dishes! Learning new vocab words when you don't have a bread knife to cut loaves properly & why the "countdown" begins when you try to bake! Plus, we learned Alexa had a dangerously interesting way to open up a bottle!

Besties Weekend at The Greenbrier

The Greenbrier Resort & Spa is one of my favorite places to relax and soak in luxury!

My best friend, Melissa, is 18 weeks pregnant!!!! We had a little Greenbrier Celebration & Relax-cation!

Despite being pregnant & sick with bronchitis.... & me feeling under the weather, we made the most of a short vacation :)

My throat hurt my the end from so much talking & laughing! Typical!

She is the cutest, happiest & most adorable pregnant woman!!!! She's still in PA school, traveling & living life to the fullest while pregnant! That's something to look up to!!! In addition to having a pure genuine heart, smarts, loyalty & ambition!

Not just a Normal Shopcation

It was suppose to be just a normal shopping trip to Cincinnati, but ended up being a blog worthy story!

Natalie & I wanted to spend a quiet Saturday shopping for work clothes and ended up getting caught in a storm!

Being journalist nerds that we are, we captured a bunch of lightning video to send back to our stations!

Then, we get to a DARK mall! The entire Kenwood Towne Center lost power and operated the foo court & anchor stores on generators! Most of the smaller stores shut down!!!

Natalie & I managed to shop IN THE DARKNESS & Try on clothes in the dark! Thank good for a 3-way mirror that was lot & one working cash register at Chanel- we were able to shop & buy!

To tell you honestly, it was AWESOME! It felt like a sleepover at the mall! We both did REALLY well with our purchases! More shift dresses for me :)

Then! We caught the Riverbend Fireworks Festival from Maggianos where we ate too much and the restaurant begged Natalie to take another meal home for free- which apparently was a special that night- so as a "random act of kindness"- someone got a free meal lol

On our way back- we got caught in another news story! A bad accident that shut down two lanes on the interstate!

At the end of the day, my stomach hurt from laughing so much & I'm very happy with my new dresses for work! ;)
