PARTY PLANNING
Vintage Vineyard Bridal Shower
in honor of my best friend, Mellie
I LOVE throwing themed parties!
I've had great success with my Hawaiian Luau (bikinis & leis) & Jungle Party (where we had flying bats, smoke machines & men dressed up in full gorilla and lion costumes- not kidding)
For my best friend's bridal shower, I wanted to do a theme that would be more appropriate to fit her Italian Family and guest list of 50 people in Richmond, Virginia.
So! I decided to throw a white tent party under the stars and lights- and call it a "Vintage Vineyard" party.
The night before, the party rental supplies came in. My husband and My best friend's dad and future brother in law set up the beautiful massive tent that would sit 50 people for a somewhat nice sit-down dinner. We were in the process of setting up the white lights, lanterns & sparkles inside the tent.
We also had her giant deck set up with multiple tables (including one for pure meat- we made 75 Chicken Romano Breasts, 75 Chicken Ceasar & London Broil- enough to feed 100 people- because we ARE talking about people who like to eat, here! manja! =)) We were baking 50 potatoes and had plans to make sweet potatoes to make an entire extravagant baked potato bar.
We also had a serepine table set up to make a massive grand display of fresh cheeses, grapes and dozens of bottled wine!
THEN... it happened. it started to RAIN!!!!!!
My husband and I were monitoring the radar- which kept lying to us.
Unfortunately, the 10% chance of rain... the SLIM chance... was still a chance that wouldnt stop.
We decided to move everything inside to see if the rain would stop (which it pretty much did right as the shower started!) but we were losing lots of time and had to PLAN B... which was move everything inside to the house- and just make do...
so these are a few photos of our PLAN B... which turned out to be decent.
BUT...
everyone did have a great time! and although not all the food was made, we had PLENTY of leftovers! PLENTY! and people took plates and plates of it all home!
I had to say- Mellie's bridal shower was a success because of the people who came together to pitch in!
Bridesmaids bringing their specialties & unique dishes, extra bottles of wine and enough grapes to feed an entire village, and helping me with every little detail! making sure the games were not too cheesy but fun!
including the boys (who were grilling, cleaning, bringing food & video taping- mostly the ceiling! SAL!) lol
At the end of the Day, the GORGEOUS Bride-to-Be was truly showered with TONS of Gifts & Love!
and lots of little dirty martinis, which are her favorite!
(i.e. Meltinis)
There was dancing & Italian Music! Im just grateful my best friend had a wonderful time !
(i cant help thinking though, what a shame! we didnt even get to use the tent, tables & chairs!)
perhaps a good excuse to throw another party?
maybe in Ohio next time!
oh! I even forgot to give out party favors!
so Ill have an extra 50 for the next vineyard party! lol
I also wouldnt know what to do without my husband!
He picked me up in Dayton Thursday Night- he drove me all the way to Virginia
He did most of the cooking on our end and then had an event in Virginia to host Sunday-
then he drove all overnight from Virginia to Ohio Sunday Night- to drop me off back in Ohio-
then we both worked Monday!
the entire time? he was just happy to help me & wanted to make my life as easy as possible
Im ONE LUCKY girl & I know it!!!!!!
