CHRISTMAS IN DAYTON!!

finally, my husband and I got to enjoy actually Christmas Midnight at Mass =)

since we both worked Christmas Eve... in different cities- we were fortunate enough to spend a few hours together to celebrate the reason we celebrate Christmas!

We attended a Christmas Concert & Midnight Mass, which is my FAVORITE thing to do!

then we came home to this little guy- waiting for Christmas Brunch!

My husband cooked brunch & supper!

CHRISTMAS IN VIRGINIA & WASHINGTON D.C.!

My husband had meetings after meetings in Washington D.C. & Richmond, so I tagged along to spend a few days with my husband & our friends~!

We had a fantastic time in D.C. (I went one of the days & stayed in Richmond the rest)

We had a chance to see the the Library of Congress =) and the Capitol (that story coming up later)

We also had a chance to go back to The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, VA where we got married this year!

It's always a treat visiting The Jefferson, especially now- since we have SO MANY amazing memories!

It's safe to say- its my FAVORITE place in the entire world! (that and the Cathedral)

we also had a chance to attend Mass at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, where we saw Father Patrick, who married us! We also ran into a few friends =)

also in Richmond, we FINALLY had a chance to enjoy amazing dinner & conversations with our friends, the Gilmores!  They did an incredible job picking out the restaurant, Acacia Mid-town!

I remember when Acacia was located in Carytown- I loved it there...

and I love the new location and new menu!

They even had a "Lilly Pulitzer" Cocktail- obviously being my favorite designer, GUESS WHAT I ORDERED?

My best friend Melinda and I organized a Nutcracker Party!

okay- so I did the little stuff.. and her husband Victor cooked most of everything HAHAHA

I did attempt to bake.. but my brownie pops turned out strange...

my champaign truffles turned out way too sweet =(

Yes, we are a strange bunch...

Yes, we dress up for Dinner Parties

but... we have the best time in the world doing it!

CHRISTMAS IN MICHIGAN!

During my time away from work, I headed up to Detroit, where my husband still had to work...

During his days at the station, I ended up spending some time with my best friend, Melissa, who was visiting her sister and sister's family in Grosse Point! (so happy Kristina lives there!!!)

We explores Grosse Point's Hill & Village areas & ate at the most delicious place, called The Hill! (appropriately named)!!!

Then, we did what we always do- SHOP!!!

It's always so good seeing my best friend from Middle School in the most random places! Ha!

Then we had a Family Christmas dinner which happened to be truly a multi-cultural event!!!!! We're calling it the United Nations Family Dinner!!!!

Thanks Kristina and Boch for dinner!!!! My husband and I had a wonderful time Chowing on the best Thai food I've had in a really long time!!! and what conversations!!!!! Lol! I love my Tucker family :)

 CHRISTMAS IN CHICAGO!!!

My first trip to Chicago was absolutely fantastic! I fell in love with the windy city!!!!!

My little sister (from our sorority at the University of Virginia) and I stayed at the beautiful classic Palmer House (thanks hubby!!!)!

We did what girls do on their trip to Chicago- SHOPPING on N Michigan Avenue, dining at the beautiful Signature Room at a small table by the window overlooking Downtown Chicago & sightseeing in the RAIN!

We discovered ponchos at CVS, which made the windy rain much more bearable!

It was a good little/big time discovering a beautiful city!

Of course, I was lucky enough to spend some time with my high school from, Leah, from St. Catherine's School in Richmond!!!! Her mom, Debbie, was also in town visiting!!! The three of us had a great time in Old Town, which is just the cutest area in Chicago!!!!

What a wonderful way to spend the Holiday Season exploring a new city!!!!!

DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS BLIZZARD 2012

My photographer and I headed out to Preble County, one of the hardest hit areas

The Miami Valley received anywhere from 6-10 inches of snow (more in some spots) and we were in the heart of it all.. Below is a picture I took of my photographer Bob Garlock.

You can see the snow/ice mix blowing SIDEWAYS from the wind gusts...

Needless to say- it was NOT pretty reporting out on the field, but it was fun!

I often write about my BEHIND THE SCENES experience at WHIO TV as a Reporter & Anchor for the #1 CBS Affiliate in the Country (yes, Im very proud of that~!)

Today, I had the chance to see the "Behind the scenes" of what goes Behind the Scenes~!!!!

Our amazing Promotions Department is working on new Logos, Promotions, Commercials, Etc...

We're also working with local and national companies who are helping us shoot these amazing promos~!

What an experience watching these Pros at work!!!!

They used "RED" cameras (apparently the best in the movie industry?) and lots of neat gadgets

They were quite the daredevils, too!

Yep- the car rolls.. he shoots... not a joke!

Kudos to our entire Crew!

Our November Sweeps Numbers are STUNNING (even for the #1 Top Rated CBS Affiliate in the entire country!!!)!!! For example a 17.7 for our 6PM News!!! I know, AMAZING! No doubt about it!!! (Makes me Proud!)

Our bosses & party hostess Quincy Wallace put together a night of Pizza & Chats for us to enjoy at UNOS downtown!!! Yummy!!!

It was a fun night with TV, Dayton Daily News, WHIO Radio & Breaking News Team... at Cox Media Group, "we are BETTER TOGETHER!"

Best part of the night?! Our boss, Dave, photo bombed a photo, but out of the kindness of my heart- I did not post :)

It was a perfect night to get in to the HOLIDAY SPIRIT (most of us were already in the spirit- with Jenna's desk all decorated with red & green... Kate & I already have our trees... etc... but it was still perfect!)

Thanks to Diane & The Victoria Theater Association, some of us at WHIO TV attended the opening night of Irwing Berlin's White Christmas, the Musical!

It was a beautiful performance with amazing voices and unbelievable dancing!

it's Small Business Saturday!!! to support local & fresh, we headed to dinner and ice cream at Young's in the Dayton area!!!

First, Golden Jersey Inn with delicious sweet potato bread & buffalo cheese curds to start! Then came the salads, chicken & noodles, meatloaf etc!!!

By the end of dinner, we were saying, "no more food!!!!!" until after the petting zoo..... Then we had Ice cream LOL

Girls Weekend in Charleston!

My best friends Melinda Nuara & Rachel Agee met me in Charleston for a weekend of celebration!!!!!

I walked in to a hotel room decorated with pink & green for my birthday!!!! They had decorations everywhere and lots of yummy cupcake champaign & gourmet cupcakes in various flavors!!!

We spent the weekend SHOPPING and pumping in money to the local economy :) we loved the small bridge shops & tidewater grill for dinner!!!! Amazing seafood and the restaurant had iPad Menus!!!!!

Walking in to Christmas Carollers & Displays and Displays of Gorgeous & Delicious Food!

Endless Food Bars including Macaroni & Crepe Stations!

I had the honor to be a "celebrity judge" for the Delightful Dessert Contest at the 18th annual "Ringing in the Holidays" at Carillon Park in Dayton Ohio! This mean- I got to sample and re-sample (and cont.) the most delicious desserts from around the Miami Valley! Hardest Part was judging the best desert!

My personal favorite (which won Critics Choice) was the mini cupcakes from "The Cakery"..

They included miniature edible bicycles to decorate!

You can't go wrong with a bicycle theme when you're talking about Dayton's History! (Wright Brothers!)

My favorite display was the Ice Sculpture- in shape of a Wright Brother's Bicycle!!!

Not only was it GORGEOUS, but USEFUL!

It was used to funnel Pomegranate Martinis w Raspberry Garnish!

Clever Idea Donated by Freund, Freeze & Arnold!

Nice meeting you Nicole & Mark!

Refreshing!

Most importantly, we hope Carillon Park made lots of money at the Silent Auction!

Brady, Hope the fundraising went well!

We were partnered up with the Ohio Republican Party, while Jim Otte and Bob Garlock were with the Democrats.

After stopping by at the "Panda" in Springfield to grab a quick bite, we arrived on the Media Platform!

Thanks to our wonderful, Jim Otte, who had reserved us the BEST SPOT in the House!

Not much energy throughout the night, as Republicans lost the U.S. Senate Race in Ohio...

and then the Presidential Race.
